The founder and Managing Partner, Mohamed M. Alkhateeb, besides being a veteran lawyer, is a well known business leader. He realizes the needs of the local and international business communities for a highly efficient practice led by a professional lawyer who had gained in-depth experience in the business and corporate fields. Mohamed Alkhateeb obtained his LLB in 1972. After practicing law in a leading Bahraini law firm and qualifying in the Bahrain Bar, he entered the corporate world as a professional with a reputable legal background. He is a leading legal counsel and has been admitted to both the Court of Cassation and the Constitutional Court. Mohamed Alkhateeb holds an LLB degree from Beirut Arab University, an MA in Company Direction and Corporate Governance (with merit) from the University of Leeds, UK, a Post Graduate Diploma in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors (IOD), UK and various other high level professional qualifications. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Directors, UK, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), UK, a Council Member and Expert of Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG), New York and a GCC Arbitrator and Expert. Mohamed M. Alkhateeb is the author of the corporate governance book “Developing the Efficiency of Corporate Boards in the Arab World“ published by AL Yazori Scientific Books, Amman (2008) and many articles and speeches at international seminars.
As an advisor to major corporations in Bahrain, he was engaged in prominent executive positions culminating in his appointment as CEO of the successful international heavy industry corporation, The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair yard Company (ASRY) from 1996 to 2008.
During his tenure as CEO, he has worked with the company’s Board of Directors and his management team to turn the company around to be one of the most profitable and efficient global shipyards and has also achieved two major expansions.
His international corporate experience includes heading the UK global marketing company ASRYMAR as Managing Director (1985 – 2008), negotiating and concluding millions of dollars worth of deals with major corporations in Europe, USA, Latin America and the Far East.
Mohamed Alkhateeb is deeply involved in Bahrain’s business and social community and has served as the Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Businessmen’s Association (2002-2008) and a member of the Board of the Arab Businessmen League (2004-2008). He is a founder of NIIT (National Institute for Industrial Training) and served as a Director in the Board (2005-2008). He is a founder of Bahrain International School Association (USA Department of Defence School with local community participation) and is the Chairman of the Board. He is also one of the founders and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Bayan School, which is a prominent and highly reputable bilingual international school in Bahrain.
